For three years, no «since three years»

La regla

Usa for con una duración de tiempo (for three years, for two weeks) y since con un punto de partida (since 2020, since Monday). Con ambos, usa el presente perfecto: I have lived here for three years.

El francés depuis y el árabe منذ cubren ambos significados, por lo que los estudiantes dicen since three years. El inglés los separa: una duración lleva for, un inicio lleva since.
