Día 44 de 60 · A2 · Vocabulario
Tell va seguido de una persona: tell me, tell him the truth, tell Sara a story. Say va seguido de las palabras, no de la persona: say hello, say something. Para añadir la persona después de say, usa to: She said something to me.
El árabe قال لي y el francés il m'a dit ponen la persona justo después del verbo, así que los estudiantes dicen He said me. En inglés, solo tell funciona así: He told me.

Algunas frases fijas llevan tell sin persona: tell the truth, tell a lie, tell the time, tell a story. Y con las palabras exactas de alguien, usa say: “I'm late,” she said.
